Florida Department of Health: Mumps Advisory & Surveillance Report
The Florida Department of Health (DOH) has identified a significant increase in mumps cases within the state, including in individuals with documented history of measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccination. Due to this increase, DOH is issuing the attached advisory that discusses mumps symptoms, transmission, laboratory testing, updated vaccination recommendations, and reporting requirements to better prepare health care providers with evaluating, diagnosing, and reporting a case of mumps. Additionally, a mumps surveillance summary is attached for health care provider to review trends in mumps cases, including MMR vaccination rates.
